Hiding The Old To Make Room To Buy The New

In my daughters class we have a system set up for birthday parties. The parent can either chose to receive money (a set amount) or a present. Usually the parents that ask for money ask because their child is saving to get a big present for their birthday (like a bike) and the parents that ask for a present usually ask because their child really enjoys opening up presents. Either way is fine. I think children love toys no matter what. If they’re saving for something big or just getting something small, it doesn’t matter. It’s all fun and exciting to them.

My daughter is like most children. She gets a toy, plays with it for about a week and then forgets all about it. The other thing that happens is that she has a tendency to pull out all of her toys and then forgets to put them away. I think I’m going to do the sensible thing and just put some away and then get them back out after she’s forgotten about them, so it’s like a new toy. This will not be helped by the fact that my mom and grandma are coming to visit, she’ll be having her birthday party as well as her birthday. Oh and that’s not to mention other holidays which just so happens to be in the same month. Yippee.

I guess I should probably start the “winter cleaning” now. Only 47 days to go. Oh dear, wish me luck! I’m going to need it.
