The childhood obesity is a problem that affects many people today, and is currently a lack of activity and poor diet cause children to be affected by a disease that once only associated with higher. It is important to react and take action on the matter to stop this evil.

Obesity is not a hopeless case, since changing the habits of life is a good solution to combat it. Childhood is the stage of our life in which we formed for the future. Many of the experiences of children will mark our adult life, so it is important that we control some aspects in time and avoid that a child will develop obesity accompany you for life. It simply serves to adapt the habits and lead them to a healthier life.

As we know, the basis of good health is the practice of sport , it is one of the best ways to maintain a good weight and improve health. In the case of children, we must strive to carry out at least 60 minutes daily of activity sports. To achieve this it is important to take some action. Preventing childhood obesity should begin in pre-schools

39 percent of Czechs preschools do not apply the rules of a healthy and balanced diet and does not motivate children to exercise. This is the sad result of a survey conducted by the Czech School Inspection.
As a result, increases sharply obesity in primary pupils, says Nikola Kristek, project coordinator Sano ABC aims to instill in younger healthy lifestyle.

“The statistics on obesity and overweight children are alarming. One in five children Czechs between 10 and 15 years are overweight and their number is increasing. The expertise on healthy habits for the prevention appeal begins already in preschools ” , stressed Kristek.
The project grew out of ABC Sano cooperation between nutrition and exercise experts, psychologists and educators of child care. It is based on four pillars: appropriate exercise, healthy eating, stress protection and coexistence and respect for the environment.

The program consists of weekly blocks. Children learn to master them in different situations. At the same time they acquire the basics for a healthy and balanced diet, says Nikola Kristek.
“We started the concept of the food pyramid. Thanks to this simple chart, children learn that there are no bad foods, but depends on the quantity. If a child wants to eat candy, we say, okay, but try the other foods you eat that day are healthy. In our experience, children of four or five years are able to understand the concept and adapt to it.” (more…)
